Where yo equilibrium at?

"According to the law of requisite variety, the survival of any system depends on its capacity to cultivate variety in its internal structures. Disequlibrium is life. Equilibrium is death. Prolonged equilibrium dulls our senses, numbs our minds, and atrophies our muscles."

I'm very interested in this first one. Projection? Was this simply a wonderful discovery or does it arise from research of some sort? I guess both could be true, eh? Do you have plans for a project? Please, keep this sort of thing coming!

Could this fit with the first image of your last post? Did the first feed the second?

Point of clarification: When I say 'second' I'm referring to the first image from your last post.

Crap: correction: Point of clarification again (whoa, brain farts galore): When I say 'first' I'm referring to the first image from your last post.

This was a discovery that fed off of my previous posted photo. I was inspired by your comment on my last post about discovering new worlds. These worlds can be found with my digital camera. My recent thoughts have been about shadow. What defines a shadow? what does a shadow suggest? etc. Since my digital camera does not serve the purpose of commentary on quality of a panned out image I must focus on something often overlooked and a bit more of a detail. Two main thoughts intrigue me with shadows: it is a new way of expressing light, and a shadow will always be suggestive. A shadow is a step away from direct modeling, it suggests the shape of body or object but the person or object is not fully seen. Shadows and I have not been in constant conversation and I would like to change that. I suppose, then, you could label this project as 'conversation with shadows'. I certainly have a lot of work cut out before me, as I would like to take advantage of the remaining summer sunlight as a source. Thanks for the feedback on this one, it gives me a bit more direction as to what I want to pursue.

As I was driving up to De Pere today I was listening to this song from Switchfoot, and it made me think about your last comment. I'm interested where this takes you, Jacki. I know you've been searching for a new direction, and in a way this almost seems like an extension from your work with light at GBCI. It's okay for "new" to be a twist on what you've already done before. Maybe you hadn't thought of it that way, but to me it seems as though you've discovered something from one perspective with light, and now you want to see things from the other side. That's really, really great. Take a listen to "The Shadow Proves the Sunshine" here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypSz8WqRc_M
