Although all of these photos require a good amount of time to be spent with them, this image on the bottom really REALLY gets me. I'm going to have to say that I prefer it smaller before I click on it because it begins to fall apart a little as it grows (maybe some camera shake). This wallpaper is good stuff. Great showing of SPACE.

Wow. Just wow. I am so excited to see more work. At first looking at the second picture I didn't understand what it was, but when I blew it up and saw that you were looking through the bars and up over into the empty beds, that's when I realized that you were actually in the prison. To be honest in the first shot I thought it was a photo of the shoes in a bowling alley :) These three work well together in my opinion - it is interesting to see the difference in how TV portrays prisons and how this one is.

I was so excited to see that you posted some of your GBCI photos! I have been thinking about you a lot and what you might experience or shoot.

First, I would like to say that you did a really great job incorporating your style within this setting. I still feel that you are composing similar as you have done before, paying attention to diagonal lines, as well as a barrier (like in the 2nd picture). You have a nice variety of options and things to explore.

I think that the first two photographs are very strong. The absence of a human subject lets me decide who would be in this situation, and I appreciate being able to ponder that. However the third photograph is also moving. I find it so interesting that there is a "forest scene" painted within. I am not sure how I feel about it. What I found important was that even with the person in the frame, you have been able to not make them the focal point. You might be limited as far as lighting goes, I don't know, but if you are able to explore other options it would be cool to see. I am drawn to this positive hopeful feeling I get from the current lighting situation, but I know that in reality these garments and living quarters really take a toll on people. Thanks for sharing Jacki, I am excited to see where this goes!

P.S. Sam makes a great point about what society/media teaches us about prisons. I feel like more people need to be aware of this.
