This is David LaChapelle...He was recommended for me to look at from my friend, Alfredo, the photography I highlighted awhile back, from Paris. Alfredo and I were talking for awhile, because I wanted to get his outside opinion on my work and what he thought of it as a whole. That is something I have been looking at alot more...a body of work. I obviously am drawn to a certain "style" of work. I appreciate and am drawn to an aspect of distortion on my work. I am not sure yet, why that is...It intrigues me to some degree to see other sides of people through these mediators which are the water and orginally my shower pictures. I always find it interesting that there are so many sides to people. The water doesn't allow them to put much thought into their posing. There is only so much control you can have as you bob around, and puff out your cheeks to hold in air... Then there is the ability to open your eyes vs. not being able to. I feel like there is such an interest in the poses people choose and the fact that their face say so much with their eyes closed as much as with their eyes open. He also mentioned to me about continuing my shower pictures as a full body work...I have always done portraits, but I am intrigued to try full body ones as well.
